Inherited Cardiovascular (Heart and Vascular System) Disease

It is estimated that one in five people globally have high Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] and are at risk for premature cardiovascular disease and a high level of this fatty particle in the blood called lipoprotein(a) can triple the risk of heart attack or stroke at any age.

20% of the population have Lp(a) levels >50 mg/dL,

10% have level >90 mg/dL,

5% have levels >116 mg/dL,

1% have levels >180 mg/dL 

0.1% have levels greater than 245 mg/dL
